It's been awhile, blogging world. I finished my first year of grad school, took my first ever summer school class, and am about to start training for teaching freshman english in the fall. so today is one of my last days to sleep in...but I think the rain made me wake up. So, I made some coffee, opened the windows, and listened to the weepies. what a great morning. I may have also danced around with Dinah.
Who is Dinah? well, she's my roommate's cat. but as my roommate has been out of town for a month--we've become very attached. now I do really like my roommate, but I am a little sad she's about to come back and steal Dinah away from me. I like that Dinah follows me around the apartment, and tries to fall asleep on me at every possible moment. she's very sweet. but not too camera friendly. here are some photos to give you an idea of how I spent my summer. I happen to LOVE living alone...I think because no one has to know how often I throw dance parties to TSwift. or listen to the same song on repeat all morning or how often I burn my food.
I didn't mean to look so pensive. I think I was trying to coax her to look at the camera. but she closed her eyes and purred. she is constantly trying to take a nap.
and again, I am saying smile, and she's barely opening her eyes. my fave thing is when she decides in the middle of walking across the room that she's tired and she flops her entire body down on the ground. I also got my haircut, but you can't really tell from these photos. I'm trying to look older and more professional. here's to professoring soon!

Perhaps you will inspire me to start blogging again. I need something to do while off work.
And Dinah is cute. But she is no Elle :-)
